I have spent the better portion of my life working in various positions in the restaurant industry. There is a level of grit and artistry about restaurant life that I love — from owning a restaurant to serving, having a stand at Lancaster’s Central Market, bartending, buying local and even growing produce from seed.

Earlier in the year, Donovan had the opportunity to assist several restaurants under the Viva Restaurant Group rebrand and relaunch their visual identity through new imagery. Here’s a quick look at few favorites from his session with the Castle Pub by Viva.

Our work often takes us into unlikely places to tell the story of unseen things. This was the case on an unseasonably warm November morning when Jeremy was invited behind the scenes at the Lancaster, PA train station by colleague Ryan Miller of Brent L. Miller Jewelers & Goldsmiths. After falling into disrepair, Ryan wanted to fix the station’s iconic timepiece in honor of his father. Thanks to his efforts the clock now has new mechanics that features a satellite connection to set and maintain accurate timing.

I have always been intrigued by Sight and Sound Theater and their rich history of visual storytelling.  So when I got a call from Lovell-Fairchild Communications to capture the world premier of Samson, I jumped at the chance!

Over the past several years we have had the opportunity to photograph several different cookbook productions for various different cuisines.  But we wanted to give you a look at one particular cookbook we photographed with Valerie Baer; Baking With Whole Grains.

When I first started talking with illustrator Jared Boggess about collaborating to create a short film, I was intrigued by the visual aspect of the work he does as an illustrator.

This summer, Donovan was selected by the publishers at Herald Press to photograph the 40th anniversary edition of their iconic More With Less cookbook.

I love personal projects. It gives you the opportunity to let your creativity out of the box, and simply capture something that you are passionate about.  One of these personal projects was a recent series on an amazing local artist, Nathan Bucher of Iron & Wood.

We love working on projects that are full of variety. This was certainly true with a project for Penn State’s Dickinson School Of Law in Carlisle, PA.

When it comes to an extensive home renovation project, there are certainly many monumental and exciting steps to the process. What gets us excited?  When we have an opportunity to join in this process for one of the most thrilling parts: admiring the finished product!
